Clarice Bissett Sanders, 70, of Port Lavaca, passed away March 4, 2006. She was born September 23, 1935, in Six Mile, Texas, to Gladys Meyer Mikula and the late Joseph Mikula. She worked for the Port Lavaca Clinic in Insurance and Billing for 36 years and was a member of Salem Lutheran Church where she served on the Altar Guild.
She is survived by her husband, Norman C. Sanders of Port Lavaca; daughters, Deborah and Gary Westbrook of Victoria, Carol and Darwin Browning of Victoria, Cheri Batchelder of Port Lavaca; sons, Wesley and Tammie Bissett of College Station; step-sons, Samuel Sander of Port Lavaca, Bryan Sanders of Port Lavaca, Brad and Laura Sanders of San Antonio; mother, Gladys Meyer Mikula of Port Lavaca; sisters, Carla and Leroy Jurek of Port Lavaca, Marilyn Mikula of Port Lavaca; sister-in-law, Janice Mikula Kooiman of Victoria; eight grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Wesley T. Bissett Sr.; father; brothers, Stanley and Bernie Joe Mikula.
A visitation will be held Monday, March 6, 2006, from 6-8 P.M. in Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, March 7, at 10 A.M. in Salem Lutheran Church, Pastor Jenny Stephenson officiating. Interment will follow in Six Mile Cemetery.
