      Funeral services were held for Gladys Ernstes Sodolak, 84, of Frydek on
      Friday Nov. 25, 2005, from St. Mary's Catholic Church in Frydek with Rev.
      Bernard Snock celebrating the funeral mass and rite of committal. Interment
      was held in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Frydek.

      Pallbearers for the service were John Ermis, Eric Sanford, and Michael E.
      Sodolak, Chris Sodolak, Louis Sodolak, and John Guice Jr.

      She was born Aug. 16, 1921 to John Andrew and Rose Bischof Ernstes, who were
      owners of a dairy farm in Katy. While in high school, Gladys was active in
      volleyball and tennis. During World War II, she worked as a civilian for
      the Army Air Corps inspecting aviation fuel.

      On June 16, 1947 she married William (Bill) F. Sodolak and together they
      owned and operated Riverside Service Station and Cafe for almost 30 years.

      Gladys was a member of the Sealy Catholic Daughters, St. Mary's Altar
      Society, K.J.Z.T. Society of Frydek, San Felipe-Frydek Volunteer Fire
      Department Auxiliary, and the San Felipe Home Demonstration Club. Her
      favorite organization was the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women where she
      held various offices, attended meetings and conventions, and thoroughly
      enjoyed the friendship of ladies throughout the region. She attended daily
      mass until her illness.

      Gladys Ernstes Sodolak died Nov. 23 [2005].

      She is survived by her children, their spouses, and her grandchildren:
      Rosemary and Alfred Ermis of Alvin and son John; Margaret Sanford of
      Hallsville, son Eric and daughter Cassandra; Kay Paul of Tuscan, AZ and
      daughter Ellen; Bill Jr. and Suzanne Sodolak of Frydek, daughter Angela and
      son Christopher. She also is survived by her siblings and their spouses:
      Lloyd and Mary Ernstes of Katy; Albert and Mary Ernstes of Schulenburg; Leo
      Ernstes of Schulenburg; Barbara and Dr. Charlie McDonald of Richmond, and
      Clara and John Guice of Katy. She also is survived by her sister-in-law
      Margie Sodolak of Bernardo and sister-in-law and brother-in-law Irene and
      Lawrence Blazek of Frydek, and numerous nieces and nephews.

      Gladys was preceded in death by her husband Bill, her parents John and Rose
      Ernstes, sister Mary Ann Ernstes, and grandchildren Sara Paul and Anne Marie
