Svrcek 89, of West passed away Friday morning Sept. 30, 2005 at a West nursing home.Rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Church of the Assumption in West, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial with the Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in West. Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m., Sunday at Kotch Funeral Home in West.Mrs. Svrcek was born Nov. 6, 1915 in West and had lived in the West area all her life. She married Cyril Svrcek on January 7, 1936 in West. She was a member of St. Mary's Church of the Assumption, the Altar Society, KZJT Society #11, KJT Society #31 and SPJST Lodge #6. She was a lifetime member of the Catholic Daughters of America Court #829 and she was also one of the original directors of West Fraternal Auditorium.She enjoys gardening and cooking, baking pies and kolaches for fundraisers and was very family oriented. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the joys of her life.She was preceded in death by her husband on August 20, 2004; parents, Joe R. and Marie Marek; brothers, Edward Marek and Joseph Marek; sister Mary Pavlovsky; and two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.Mrs. Svrcek is survived by her sons, Cyril B. Svrcek and wife Unett of Avalon, Raymond Svrcek and wife, Betty of DeSoto and Robert J. Svrcek and Jeanne Chase of Lancaster; daughters Lil Pavlas and husband Charlie of Abbott, Marie Snider and husband Dean of Elm Mott and Edith Brem and husband Herbert of West; brothers, John Marek and wife Ann of Ennis and Cy Marek and wife Mary Jo of Dallas; sisters, Sophie Young of Waco and Lois Kallus and husband Raymond of West; sister-in-law Virginia Marek of West; 15 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Parish Center in West.
