      ABSTRACT OF OBITUARY: GEORGE IGNAC KALLUS, 89 OF COLUMBUS,

      DIED: July 16, 2004

      BORN: Feb. 22, 1915 at Rutersville.

      Parents: Richard and Frances (Janda) Kallus

      Married: Josie H. Sumbera Jan. 23, 1940 in Ammansville.

      He was a life-long resident of the county, having lived at Rutersville, Hostyn and Ammansville. He was a dairy farmer, member of St. John the Baptist Church in Ammansville, KJT, Knights of Columbus, and Farm Bureau.

      Survived by: his wife, Josie H. ; two daughters, Valerie Lester and husband Dean of Houston and Angeline Pekar of Ammansville; two sons, Bernard Kallus and wife Pat of Houston and Marcus Kallus and wife MaryAnn of Ammannsville; two sisters, Sr. Martha Kallus and Sr. Helen Kallus, Oblates, St. Scholastic Mission House of Naperville, Ill; two brothers, Jerry Kallus and wife Ann of La Grange and Edward Kallus and wife Janie of Navasota; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

      Funeral services were held Mon., July 19 at 10 a.m. at St John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ammansville with Rev. Tim Kosler officiating.

      Burial in church cemetery.
