      FRANCES ANN BARTON rejoined her parents and brother on July 3, 2005, who predeceased her after a courageous battle with emphysema.
       
       Fran was born in New York City and spent her youth in Waco, Texas, graduating first in her nursing class at Hillcrest Hospital in 1946. She is survived by her husband, Alton, whom she married on July 13, 1946 in Seattle, Washington. They have three children, Keith Barton, Karen Marcum and her husband, Gene, and Kevin Barton and his wife Honey, and six grandchildren, Greg Barton, Kim Barton, Kristen Fonteno, Kylie Fonteno, Kasey Barton, and Holly Barton; and by two great grandchildren, Cory Barton and Morgan Barton. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
       
       Fran accompanied her husband, Al, of 59 years of marriage, spending 23 years in the Navy in ports of call of Chincoteague, Virginia, Puerto Rico, Bermuda, Glynco, Georgia, New Orleans, Louisiana, and Virginia Beach, Virginia before returning to Texas to live in Houston since 1966. Fran was a registered nurse and worked at Spring Branch Memorial Hospital before retiring in 1973. Fran was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and loved providing a home for her family.
       
      A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 6, 2005 at the Holy Covenant United Methodist Church, 22111 Morton Ranch Road, Katy, Texas 77494. Visitation with the family will be held at the church after the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to the American Lung Association.
