      ROBBIE CECILIA KONECNY, 86, went to be with her God and her daughter Joan on January 24, 2005 as a result of complications from a stroke. Robbie was born in Houston, Tx. on July 29, 1918. She grew up in the Heights and attended John H. Reagan H.S. graduating in 1936. Robbie met Leon Thomas Konecny and in 1942 they were married and remained happily so for 62 years. After WWII Robbie and Leon moved to the Garden Oaks subdivision and became members of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Robbie was a devout Catholic and participated in many activities in her church. She was president of the Ladies Altar Society, participated in the annual Fall festival and in later years was an active participant in the Thursday club. Robbie is predeceased by her daughter Joan Therese Konecny. Survivors include her husband Leon Thomas Konecny, sons Robert Paul Konecny, and Gary Gerrard Konecny of Houston, Tx., Leon Thomas Konecny Jr. and wife Nancy of Orange CA., and Gregory James Konecny of San Diego, CA. Grandchildren include Kendall Konecny of Davis, CA., and Kiera, Keegan and Kyle Konecny of Orange CA. The family would like to offer a special thanks to all the loving caregivers at Lexington Place Healthcare. Robbie was a resident for nine years and received the best of care. Also special thanks to the loving caregivers at Memorial Hermann Hospital Northwest who administered to Robbie in her final days. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 pm, with the rosary to be said for Robbie at Pat H. Foley Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 26, 2005 at 7:00 PM. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 3600 Brinkman on Thursday, January 27, 2005 at 10:00 AM. The rite of Christian interment will be at Forest Park Westheimer. Msgr. James B. Anderson will officiate. Remembrances can be made in the name of Joan Konecny to the school library at St. Rose of Lima.
