Egon A. Jarisch passed away
peacefully on September 9, 2004 at his home in Solms, Texas at the age of
100 years. Egon was born March 11, 1904 in Redwood, Texas to Joseph and
Lina (Stuenkel) Jarisch. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ella
(Schmidt) Jarisch, one son, Harvey Jarisch, one grandson Roderick G.
Pittman Jr., and two sons-in law, Roderick G. Pittman, and Alroy "Red"
Zercher and 7 brothers and 2 sisters. He is survived by one son Bennett F.
Jarisch Sr. and his wife Shirley, three daughters Tressie M. Russell,
Janet A. Zercher, and Louella Pittman all of New Braunfels, Texas,
daughter-in-law Mary Ann Jarisch of Victoria, Texas, also 15
grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren, and
numerous nieces and nephews. He married Ella, March 2, 1927 in San
Antonio, Texas. They built their first home on Texas 46 and Freiheit Road
and later moved to Solms where he Farmed and did thrashing for other
farmers. He was a salesman for the W. T. Rawleigh Co. for 20 years,
covering Comal and Guadalupe Counties. He helped organize the local Grange
and Farm Bureau and co-founded the Solms Water Corporation. Family and
friends will miss his sense of humor and kindness. A special thanks to
Hope Hospice and home health care workers Michelle Kanz, Sarah Taylor, and
Memorials may be made to New Braunfels Hope Hospice. Visitation will
begin at 5 PM Sunday September 12, 2004 and continue until 12:30 PM
Tuesday September 14, 2004 at Zoeller Funeral Home with the family present
to receive visitors from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Monday September 13,
2004 at Zoeller Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Tuesday September
14, 2004 at 2:00 PM at First Protestant Church with burial to follow in
Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Robert Russell, Jr.,
Bennett Jarisch, Jr., Darryl Zercher, Steven Pittman, Daren Jarisch, Mark
Jarisch, and Troy Jarisch.
