      ALMA SKRHAK, 84, passed away August 1, 2004, in Denton, Texas. Alma was a loving mother, proud grandmother, and devoted wife. She was a founding member of St. Jerome Catholic Community and worked in the Food Pantry and with the Senior Group. Alma was also a member of Memorial City Healthy Heart Club where she logged in walking over 10,000 miles. She remained active as a nursing home resident in the past 2 years, by foot peddling among other residents, extending a warm hand and big smile.
       
       Alma was preceded in death by husband, John, Sr., son, John, Jr., and sister, Felice Caballero. She is survived by sisters, Connie Vassallo and Margaret Vassallo; children Brenda Levy, Linda Kimbrough and Michael Skrhak; 9 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
       
       Memorial service will be held August 6, 2004, at 1:30 p.m. at Saint Jerome Catholic Community, 8825 Kempwood, Houston, Texas 77080. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry at the address above.
