      Margie Chilek

      Margie Nell Chilek, age 68, of Wharton, died Friday, July 9, 2004, in
      a Houston hospital following a brief illness. She was born on June
      19, 1936, in Hallettsville, the daughter of the late August Kocian
      and Lorene Wasek Kocian.

      Mrs. Chilek had been a resident of Wharton County most of her life
      and was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Wharton. She was a
      member of the Catholic Daughters at Holy Family Catholic Church. Mrs.
      Chilek married Frank August Chilek on Feb. 15, 1958, in Hungerford.
      She worked as a legal secretary and a bookkeeper for Larry Wadler and
      the Joe Schwartz store for many years until her retirement in 1998.

      A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Sunday at the chapel of Wharton
      Funeral Home and a funeral mass will be held today, Monday, July 12,
      2004, at 10 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Wharton with Rev.
      Joe Vrana officiating. Burial followed in Evergreen Memorial Park
      Cemetery in Wharton.
      Survivors include her husband, Frank Chilek of Wharton; daughters and
      sons-in-law, Debbie and Manuel Sanchez of Kingwood, Susan and Lonnie
      Evanicky and Trish Chilek, all of Wharton; brother, James Kocian of
      Damon; and granddaughter, Kristi Sanchez.

      Pallbearers are Jason Kocian, Leroy Kocian Sr., George Kocian,
      Jeffrey Hermes, Michael Chilek, Danny Chilek, Ronnie Chilek and
      Bernard Chilek.

      In lieu of usual remembrances the family requests memorials to Holy
      Family Catholic Church, 2011 Briar Lane, Wharton, TX 77488; or the
      American Diabetes Foundation, 2400 Augusta Drive, Suite 420, Houston,
      TX 77057.

      Funeral services were under the direction of Wharton Funeral Home.
