      WHARTON - Lottie Bujnoch Kocian, 85, of Wharton, died Monday, May 31, 2004.

      She was born April 14, 1919, in Lavaca County, to the late George Sr. and
      Apolena Miculek Bujnoch. She was a homemaker and worked at Gene's Donut Shop
      and Wharton Livestock Auction Barn Caf. She was a member of St. John's
      Catholic Church and Altar Society, KJZT, Catholic Daughters, Czech Heritage
      Society, and Senior Friends.

      Survivors: daughters, Mary Alice Machicek and Gladys Machicek, both of
      Shiner, Leona Boone of El Campo, Katherine Paul of Trinity, Joan Gulling of
      Bedias, and Theresa Hundl of Wharton; sons, Leroy Kocian, George Kocian, and
      Clarence Kocian, all of Wharton, Emanuel Kocian Jr. of Rosenberg, and Ervin
      Kocian of San Antonio; sisters, Elsie Steffek and Mary Helen Bujnoch, both
      of Hallettsville, and Henrietta Nevlud of Victoria; brother, George Bujnoch
      of Hallettsville; 36 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; and one
      great-great-grandson.

      Preceded in death by: husband, Emanuel Daniel Kocian Sr.; two sisters; one
      brother; two grandsons; and one great-grandson.

      Visitation will begin 5:30 p.m. today at St. John's Catholic Church.

      A rosary will be recited 7 p.m. tonight at the church.

      Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the church.

      Burial will be at St. John's Church Cemetery. Wharton Funeral Home, Wharton,
      979-532-3410.

        Lottie Kocian

        Lottie Hedwig Bujnoch Kocian, 85, of Wharton, died Monday, May 31,
        2004 in a Houston Hospital following a brief illness.

        She was born in Lavaca County on April 14, 1919 to George and Apolena
        Miculek Bujnoch Sr. Mrs. Kocian had been a resident of Wharton since
        1939 and was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Hungerford.
        She was also a member of the KJZT, the Catholic Daughters, St. John's
        Altar Society, the Czech Heritage Society and Senior Friends.

        Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Alice and Joe
        Machicek and Gladys and Willie Machicek all of Shiner, Leona Boone of
        El Campo, Katherine and Tony Paul of Trinity, Joan and Floyd Gulling
        of Bedias and Theresa and Gilbert Hundl of Wharton; sons and
        daughters-in-law, Leroy and Delores Kocian, George and Bernice Kocian
        and Clarence and Sophia Kocian all of Wharton, Emanuel and Betty
        Kocian of Rosenberg and Ervin and Gloria Kocian of San Antonio;
        sisters, Elsie Steffek and Mary Helen Bujnoch both of Hallettsville
        and Henrietta Nevlud of Victoria; brother, George Bujnoch of
        Hallettsville; 36 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren; and one
        great-great-grandson.

        Mrs. Kocian married Emanuel Daniel Kocian Sr. on Feb. 20, 1939 in
        Hallettsville and he preceded her in death on Aug. 10, 1979. She was
        also preceded in death by two sisters, one brother, two grandsons and
        one great-grandson.

        A Rosary was recited Wednesday, June 2 at 7 p.m. at St. John's
        Catholic Church in Hungerford. Funeral Mass was held Thursday, June 3
        at 10 a.m. at St. John's Catholic Church in Hungerford with Father
        Gregory Nevlud officiating. Burial followed at St. John's Church
        Cemetery in Hungerford. Funeral services were under the direction of
        Wharton Funeral Home.

        Pallbearers were her grandsons.

        Honorary pallbearers were her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and
        great-great-grandson.
