      EL CAMPO - Bennie Machart, 75, of El Campo, died Thursday, May 27, 2004.

      He was born Aug. 16, 1928, in Sweet Home, to the late John and Mary Vesely
      Machart. He was a retired draftsman and member of St. Philip the Apostle
      Catholic Church.

      Survivors: wife, Etheline Derrich Machart; daughters, Cynthia Major of
      Liberty Hill, Pamela Wise of Houston and Brenda James of Katy; sisters,
      Edith Mazza of Granbury, Hedy Hawkins of Wharton, Mildred Stavinoha and
      Dorothy Lawson, both of Palacios; brother, Gus Machart of Yoakum; 12
      grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

      A parish rosary will be recited at 1:30 p.m. today at St. Philip the Apostle
      Catholic Church.

      Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the church, the Rev. Gary Janak
      officiating.

      Burial will be at Holy Cross Memorial Park Cemetery. Triska Funeral Home, El
      Campo, 979-543-3681.

      Pallbearers: Brian Machart, Pete Machart, Buddy Stavinoha, Derek Machart,
      Jeremy Meyer, Travin Roquemore, Chris Wisnieski and James Hawkins.

      Honorary pallbearers: Scott Lawson, Dan Mazza, Lee Greer, Brandon James and
      Daniel Alameda Jr.

      Memorials: Hospice Support, Inc.

      Bennie Machart

      Bennie Machart, 75, of El Campo, died Thursday, May 27, 2004.

      He was born Aug. 16, 1928 in Sweet Home to John and Mary Vesely Machart. Mr.
      Machart was a member of St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church and a retired
      Draftsman.

      Survivors include his wife, Etheline Derrich Machart of El Campo; daughters,
      Cynthia Major of Liberty Hill, Pamela Wise of Houston and Brenda James of
      Katy; sisters, Edith Mazza of Granbury, Hedy Hawkins of Wharton, Mildred
      Stavinoha of Palacios and Dorothy Lawson of Palacios; brothers, Gus Machart
      of Yoakum; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

      A Parish Rosary will be held today, Saturday, May 29 at 1:30 p.m. at St.
      Philip the Apostle Catholic Church with the Rev. Gary Janak officiating.
      Interment will follow at Holy Cross Memorial Park.

      Note: Bennie was my grandmother's niece's husband and the biological nephew
      of her brother in-law, Raymond Machart (d. 1997). His sister Mildred
      married Donald Stavinoha, one of my grandmother's nephews.
