      Eleanor Mary Urbanik Ziesch, 61, of Austin, died Thursday, April 29, 2004. She was born September 15, 1942, in Elizabeth, New Jersey. She was the daughter of the late John and Mary Dunda Urbanik.

      She is preceded in death by her spouse, John Peter Ziesch; her parents; brother, Edward Urbanik; and great-granddaughter, Loriean Fernandez.

      She is survived by her daughters, Amy Reeves, of Austin, Laurie Lay and husband Leonard, of Lockhart; her son, James Felps and wife Gussie, of Victoria; her brother, John Urbanik and wife Diana, of Colonia, New Jersey; sister-in-law, Genevieve Urbanik, also of Colonia; grandchildren, Amanda Reeves, Logan Lay, Angella Valdez, Tisch Higginbotham and Schad Higginbotham; four great-grandchildren; and seven nieces and nephews. Eleanor had many close friends, particularly Riley Felps. She was Godmother to Mary Ann Urbanik and Steven Urbanik.

      Eleanor graduated from Kean College, in New Jersey, with a Bachelors Degree in Education. She retired from Austin ISD after 22 years of teaching elementary students.

      She was a devout Catholic and a long time parishioner of St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Austin.

      There will be an open visitation from 1:00 - 9:00 PM on Sunday, May 2, 2004, at the funeral home. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 7:00 PM on Monday, May 3, in the chapel of Wilke-Clay-Fish Funeral Home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Joe Tomei at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, May 4, 2004 at St. Ignatius Martyr Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
