      Lester Louis Ladewig of Louise died on Thursday, April 1, 2004 at Garden
      Villa Nursing Home in El Campo. He was born in Garwood September 11, 1910 to
      the late Louis A. Ladewig and Hattie Schneider Ladewig.

      He is survived by his wife Marie Filip Ladewig, now residing at Garden villa
      Nursing Home, son Lawrence Ladewig and wife Jane Malek Ladewig of El Campo;
      daughters Florence Ladewig Mynar and husband Donald of Cypress, and Dorothy
      Pryor of El Campo; grandchildren Misty and Heather Ladewig of Austin, Shawn
      Ladewig of Houston, Stacy Mynar Powell of McKinney, Kimberly Mynar of
      Houston and Dwayne Hubenak of Corpus Christi; four great-grandchildren;
      brother Gene Ladewig of El Campo.

      He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Walter, Albert and Herbert
      Ladewig; sisters Cora Medford, Laura Roe, Lorraine Smith and Velma Mathis.

      Lester was a farmer, and was owner and operator of Ladewig Caf in Louise for
      many years. He later retired from Wharton County Precinct 3 as a maintenance
      worker. He was a member of St. Procopius Catholic Church of Louise and a
      member of the K.J.T. Society.

      As a youngster, he loved competing in area rodeos and was known to offer his
      services as a cowhand into his 80's. He loved baseball, often recalling his
      early years playing for local teams. He adored his family, often saying "I
      live for my children and grandchildren." He loved life, living it to the
      fullest.

      Visitation will begin 11:00 am Saturday at Triska Funeral Home. A parish
      rosary will be recited 6:30 pm Saturday at the funeral home. Funeral Mass
      will be offered 2:00 pm Sunday at St. Procopius Catholic Church with Rev.
      Clement Quainoo officiating. Burial will follow at Louise Catholic Cemetery
      under the direction of Triska Funeral Home.

      Serving as pallbearers are Shawn Ladewig, Stanley Sulak, Norbert "PeeWee"
      Bezdek, Glenn Filip, Jesse Hubenak, and Gaylon Ladewig. Honorary bearers are
      Stacey Powell, Kimberly Mynar, Misty Ladewig, Heather Ladewig and Dwayne
      Hubenak.

      Memorial Donations may be made to the St. Procopius Catholic Church.
