He was born Jan. 17, 1927, in Bronson Community, to the late John and Mary Krejci Blinka. He graduated from El Campo High School, Wharton County Junior College, and The University of Texas at Austin. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. He was an accountant and bookkeeper for the Home Lumber Stores and member of St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church.
Survivors: niece, Mary Jane Kaiser of El Campo; and nephew, Robert Motl of Port Lavaca.
Preceded in death by: sisters, Millie Blinka Schuirring and Lillian Blinka Motal; and brother, James Blinka.
A rosary will be recited 9:30 a.m. today at St Philip the Apostle Catholic Church.
Services will be 10 a.m. today at the church, the Rev. Gary Janak officiating.
Burial with military honors under the auspices of the American Legion Post 251 will be at St Andrew's Cemetery in Hillje. Triska Funeral Home, El Campo, 979-543-3681.
Pallbearers: Lawrence Dorotik, Eric Franzen, J.V. Korenek, Josh McCown, Roy Smaistrla, and Jimmie Triska.
