      JAMES W. DVORAK, 83, died September 1, 2003 in Houston, Texas.
       
      He was born in Cleveland, Ohio November 28, 1919 and was a lifelong resident of Houston. He was a graduate of the University of Texas, and an alumnus of Rice Institute, a member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the American Chemical Society. He was a chemist, an inventor, and a lover of music and nature.
       
      Mr. Dvorak is survived by his beloved sister Barbara J. Dabold; his nephews Michael Dabold, Allen Dabold, Steve Dvorak and his daughters Alicia and Julia, and Mark Dvorak and his daughters Olivia and Celeste.
       
       A private memorial service will be held at a later time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Audubon Society, 440 Wilchester, Houston, Texas 77079.
