      HALLETTSVILLE - John Ladish Jr., 86, of Hallettsville and formerly of El Reno, Okla., died Monday, Sept. 1, 2003.

      He was born April 13, 1917, in Houston, to the late John Sr. and Minnie Hutchins Ladish. He was a veteran of World War II. He was a pipefitter for U.A. Local 192 in Cheyenne Wyo. and a lifetime member of Pipefitters International.

      Survivors: daughters, Joan Graves of San Marcos, Annette McCrumb of Hallettsville, and Margaret Perkins of Taft; son, Leonard Ladish of Taft; sister, Marie Babbin of Houston; brother, Leroy Ladish of Houston; 12 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

      Preceded in death by: second wife, Margie Ladish; sister, Merle West; and brother, Gilbert Ladish.

      Visitation will be 4 p.m. today at Kubena Funeral Home chapel.

      Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Willow Creek Cemetery, the Rev. Leon Smothers officiating. Kubena Funeral Home, Hallettsville, 361-797-3271.
