Julia Caroline Bayer Vaclavik, a resident of Floresville, Texas,
since 1985, and lifelong resident of Wilson County, Texas, passed
away Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2003, at the age of 95 years, 11 months, and 7
She was born Sept. 19, 1907, in Gonzales County, Texas, to Matt and
Estella Semersky Bayer.
On October 4, 1927, in Floresville, she married William A. Vaclavik,
who died Dec. 25, 1990.
Mrs. Vaclavik was a farmer and a rancher. She was a member of Sacred
Heart Catholic Church in Floresville and past member of the Altar
Society. She volunteered at the Nursing Center and was a member of
She was raised in Wilson County and moved to Floresville in 1985.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Vaclavik was preceded in
death by her children, Richard Vaclavik and wife Mary Ann, and
Estella Vaclavik, and her brothers, Val and Joe Bayer.
Survivors include brother, Jesse Bayer of Floresville; grandchildren
Randy Vaclavik of San Antonio, Texas, Wayne Vaclavik, Karen Moreland,
and Richard Vaclavik, all of Missouri City, Texas, and Linda Roche,
and Laurie Belknap, both of Bulverde, Texas; great-grandchildren
Mark, Celia, and Adam Vaclavik, Matthew and Kevin Vaclavik, Andrew
and Allison Stone, Hunter Moreland, Lindsay and Lauren Vaclavik,
Sarah and Brian Roche, and Natalie and Kyle Belknap; and numerous
nieces and nephews.
A rosary was held on Friday, Aug. 29, at 7:30 p.m. in the Vinyard
Funeral Home Chapel in Floresville, with Deacon Scott R. Donaho Jr.
and Madeline Polasek officiating.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, in the Sacred
Heart Catholic Church, with Father Stefan Wiera officiating.
Music was provided by Peter Kane and Carol Zidek.
Pallbearers were great grandsons Mark Vaclavik, Matthew Vaclavik, and
Andrew Stone, and nephews Steve Bayer, Val Bayer Jr., and Charles
Interment followed in the church's cemetery.
