      Daniel Albert Young
      1922-2003

      Daniel Albert Young, a resident of La Vernia, Texas, passed away
      Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2003, at the age of 81.

      He was born on Aug. 1, 1922, in La Vernia.

      He married Eugenia Skrzycki on Feb. 5, 1949.

      Mr. Young was a farmer and a rancher. He was a member of St. Ann's
      Catholic Church in La Vernia, and the American Legion Post No. 245 in
      Seguin, Texas.

      He was preceded in death by his father, John P. Young; his mother,
      Louise Schievelbein; brother Alfred Young; sister Viola Duelm; and
      son-in-law Randall Goeth.

      Survivors include his wife, Eugenia Skrzycki Young of La Vernia;
      daughters Sister M. Dorothy Young, CSSF, of San Juan de Sabinas,
      Coahuila, Mexico, and Loretta Stahl and husband Carl, Mildred Young
      Goeth, and Dannette Wileman and husband Charles, all of La Vernia;
      sons Robert D. Young Sr. and wife Sarah, and Milton "Okie" Young and
      wife Cheryl, all of La Vernia; grandchildren Bobby and wife Tracey,
      Christine, Tracey, Michael, Nicholas, Shelly, Michelle, Lisa, Craig,
      Troy, and Kelly; great-grandchildren Blake and Brooke; sister Helen
      Doege and husband Milton; brothers Alvin Young, Wilbert Young and
      wife Marlene, and Harold Young and wife Joyce; and numerous nieces,
      nephews, relatives, and friends.

      Visitation was held Thursday, Aug. 28, followed by a rosary at 7:30
      p.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in La Vernia.

      Funeral services were held at 9:30 a.m. on Friday in St. Ann's
      Catholic Church in La Vernia, with Father Victor Carrillo officiating.

      Interment followed in St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery.

      Pallbearers were Bobby Young, Nicholas Young, Michael Young, Craig
      Wileman, Randall Troy Goeth Jr., and Donald Doege.

      Honorary pallbearers were Douglas Young, Blake Young, David Doege,
      Robert John, Milton Mattke, Chester Kolodziej, Edward Doege, Tommy
      Thompson, Alvin Young Jr., and David Sparks.

      Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Ann's Building Fund,
      14151 U.S. Hwy 87 West, La Vernia, TX 78121.
