      Robert Kubala

      July 4, 2003

      Robert Kubala of El Campo, passed away on July 3, 2003 at the age of
      77. He was born on July 26, 1925 in Galveston to the late William and
      Betty Kubala.
      He had worked for Texas Gulf Sulfur as a station operator for 32
      years. He was part owner of Brothers Well Service for the past 38
      years.

      He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Nohavitza Kubala of El Campo;
      daughter Diann Srubar and husband Andrew of El Campo; sons Patrick
      Kubala and wife Becky of El Campo, and Wayne Kubala and wife Darlene
      of El Campo; grandchildren Slate Srubar and wife Laura, Shannon
      Srubar, Sandi Bystrek and husband John, Jordan Kubala, Koy Kubala,
      Kody Kubala, Haley Kubala, Keri Kubala, and Kaydi Kubala; and a
      brother Albert Kubala of El Campo.

      Mr. Kubala was a graduate of Louise High School. He was a Fourth
      Degree Knight's of Columbus, a member of the Hillje KJT and Catholic
      Life. He was a past member of the Ricebird Booster Club and the St.
      Philip's Booster Club. He was a Life Member of the Wharton County
      Youth Fair, NRA and a member of GCA.

      Visitation will begin at 12 noon on Friday. A Parish Wake Service
      will be held at 7:30 PM on Friday at the Triska Funeral Home. Funeral
      Services will be held at 10 AM on Saturday at the St. John's Catholic
      Church in New Taiton with Rev. Joseph Koebel and Deacon Jarrel
      Nohavitza officiating. Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery.

      He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother George Kubala.

      Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Slate Srubar, Shannon Srubar,
      Jordan Kubala, Koy Kubala, Kody Kubala, and John Bytrek.

      Honorary pallbearers will be his grand-daughters, Sandi Bystrek,
      Haley Kubala, Keri Kubala, Kaydi Kubala, and Laura Srubar.

      Memorial donation may be made to St. Philip's School Library.
