Benjamin Joseph "B.J." Bor-dovsky of Falls City, Texas, passed away
on Wednesday, May 28, 2003, at the age of 71 years, 3 months, and 2
Mr. Bordovsky was born in Hobson, Texas, on Feb. 26, 1932, to
Benjamin Joseph Bordovsky Sr. and Marie Trial Bordovsky.
Mr. Bordovsky married Lillian "Sissy" Kolodziej on Sept. 26, 1952, in
the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Falls City.
He attended Hobson schools and graduated from Falls City High School.
He served in the U.S. Navy in 1951. From there he pursued a career in
Civil Service working at the commissary at the Fort Sam Houston Army
base in San Antonio, Texas. He was a lifelong resident of the San
Anto-nio and Poth area.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and by his wife, Lillian, on
Jan. 26, 2003.
He was survived by children Douglas Bordovsky (who died May 30,
2003), Melinda Travis and husband Richard; Melanie Wiatrek and Doug
DeMarais, Darryl Bordovsky and wife Paula, and Melissa Aguirre and
hus-band Gilbert; grandchilddren Aimee Zaiontz, Christopher Zaiontz,
Crystal Wiatrek, Re-becca Bordovsky, Nicolas Bor-dovsky, Gilbert
Aguirre, Sonia Aguirre, and Claudia Aguirre; brothers and sisters
Geraldina Albrecht, Aubrey Bordovsky and wife Linda, Vivian Grafe and
husband Gene, Loretta Dziuk and husband Pat, Clarence Bor-dovsky and
wife Janice, and Eddie Bordovsky and wife Yolle; and a great-great-
granddaughter, Abigail Dixon.
A rosary was held at 8 p.m. on Friday, May 30, in the St. Boni-face
Catholic Church in Hobson.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday in the St.
Boniface Catholic Church, with Father Gregory Sawicki officiat-ing.
Interment followed in the Hob-son Cemetery in Hobson.
Pallbearers were Edward John Bordovsky, Christopher Bor-dovsky, Benny
Joe Bordovsky, Gilbert Aguirre IV, Steven Bordovsky, and Christopher
Zaiontz. Honorary pallbearer was Gilbert Aguirre III.
