He was born Jan. 30, 1920, in Schulenburg, to the late Rudolph and Karolina Michna Jurica. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and retired from Alcoa. He was a member of the VFW Post No. 4403 and Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church.
Survivors: wife, Edna Hartensteiner Jurica; daughter, Earline "Blondie" Keller of Port Lavaca; sons, Thomas Jurica of Port Lavaca and Roger Jurica of Point Comfort; sisters, Viola Seidel of Edna and Dorothy Narendorf of San Antonio; brother, Ben Jurica of Schulenburg; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: daughter, Charlene Jurica Brown; parents; sister, Martha Nickel; and brother, Jim Jurica.
A rosary will be recited 7 p.m. tonight at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home chapel.
Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church, the Rev. Dan Morales officiating.
Burial with full military honors, under the auspices of Victoria Veterans Council, VFW, CWV, DAV, Vietnam Veterans of America, American Legion, Marine Corps League, the Military Order of the Purple Heart, Crossroads Ex-POWs and the Military Order of the World Wars will be at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.
