Julie E. (Novak) Dirba, 70, of Richwood, died Wednesday, April 16,
She was born May 27, 1932 in Fayetteville to the late John W. and
Julia Chovanec Novak. Mrs. Dirba retired from Brazoswood Ind. School
Mrs. Dirba was preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter,
Rosemary Dirba; infant brother, Edwin Novak; and her in-laws, Martha
Prokop and Frank Dirba.
Survivors include her loving husband of 49 1/2 years, Jerry F. Dirba
Sr. and her loving sons and daughter-in-laws, Jerry F. Dirba Jr. and
Monica of Pflugerville and Danny Dirba and Pam of Clute;
grandchildren, Matthew, Derek, Joel and Danika Dirba; brothers and
sisters, John J. Novak Sr. (Josephine) of Port Lavaca, Ludvik Novak
Sr. (Mildred) of Needville, Frank Novak (Marie) of Houston, Theresa
(James) Todd of Scott, La., Annie Mae (Joe) Stransky and Tonie
(Wilburn) Kramer of Needville, Anton Novak (Patsy) of Manvel, Evelyn
(Pete) Waterloo of Crosby, Tim Novak (Bernadette) of Needville,
Martha (Emil) Matura of Houston, Mary Andel of Sugarland, Joe Novak
(Nancy) of El Campo, Adela (John) Wadephul of Orchard, and Frances
(Robert) Marshall of Alvin; aunt, Albina Chovanec of La Grange;
numerous nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; and two
Mrs. Dirba is also survived by her husband's brother, Charlie (Irene)
Dirba of Lake Jackson; and sisters, Delores Hinckley and Irene
(Leonard) Cerny of El Campo.
A Rosary was recited Sunday, April 20 at Lakewood Funeral Chapel in
Lake Jackson at 5 p.m. with viewing of the body from 3-6 p.m. Funeral
services were held Monday, April 21 at 10 a.m. at St. Jerome's
Catholic Church in Lake Jackson with Father Jim Lynes officiating.
Pallbearers were her grandsons: Matthew, Joel and Derek Dirba; her
nephews, John J. Novak Jr., Mark Novak and Anthony Stransky; and
nephew, Eddie Dirba.
