           JAMES G. KMIECIK, born March 30, 1925 in Detroit, Michigan.
       
       Known by his family as Gerald moved to Houston at age 6 months. Graduated John H. Reagan Class of 1942. Attended Rice University on a Naval ROTC Scholorship. Graduated Rice in June 1945 as Commission Ensign US Navy with Mechanical Engineering Degree. Served in Pacific Operation in World War II on Aircraft Carrier USS Saratoga. Received Bachelor of Law Degree from South Texas College of Law in 1956.   Married to the love of his life Ada Katheryn McTernan his loving wife of over 52 years.    
       
        Preceded in death by his parents James and Beatrice Kmiecik. Survived by his wife Ada and his children Gary, Kathi, Randy and Nancy; Son-in-law Van Salley, Curtis Morgan and daughter-in-law Cathline Kmiecik; grandchildren Kelsey, John and Cathrine Kmiecik, James Morgan, Edlow Collins; great-grandson Riley; aunt, Gola Slott.  
       
          Visitation will be held at Pat H. Foley Funeral Home on Friday, April 4, 2003 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. with a Vigil to be held at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 5, 2003 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 3600 Brinkman, Houston, TX. 77018, with Rev. Msgr. James B. Anderson, S.T.D. celebrant. The Rite of Committal will follow in the Garden of Gethsemani at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.      In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation to St. Rose of Lima Building Fund.
