      NIXON - Isidore Pawelek Sr., 76, of Nixon, died Wednesday, April 2, 2003.

      He was born May 24, 1926, in Panna Maria, to the late Ignatz and Geneva Swintek Pawelek. He was an automobile mechanic and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Nixon. He was an U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a vice commander in the American Legion.

      Survivors: wife, Ella Nora Pawelek; daughters, Caroline Griffin and Sally Reagan, both of Conroe and Peggy Mendez of Nixon; sons, Isidore Pawelek Jr. and Harvey Pawelek, both of Nixon and Mark Pawelek of Beeville; sisters, Annie Opiela and Albina Opiela, both of Karnes City and Betty Moczygemba of San Antonio; brother, Florian Pawelek of San Antonio; 15 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

      Preceded in death by: parents; sisters, Teresa Kingston and Rosie Wiatrek; and brother, Vincent Pawelek.

      Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. today at Finch Funeral Chapel.

      A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. tonight at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Nixon, Deacon John Moreno officiating.

      Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. David Tarlizzo officiating.

      Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Finch Funeral Chapel, Nixon, 830-582-1521.
