Larry W. Kohutek went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 29, 2003, at the age of 46. He was born to B.J. and Yvonne Kohutek on September 30, 1956 in Corpus Christi, Texas. He graduated from Carroll High School in Corpus Christi and moved with his family to San Antonio, Texas in 1975. Before graduating from Baylor University in 1980, he met his sweetheart, Jeri Pickens. They were married in 1981 and blessed with four wonderful children. Following 18 years of employment with Hewlett-Packard, he joined Sun Microsystems in 1996. His customers came to know Larry as a trusted friend and advisor, earning him membership in Sun's Chairman's Club. Larry loved family activities such as hunting, swim meets, skiing, fishing and golf. He always had a passion for baseball, enjoyed coaching little league for his boys, and participated in all the activities of his children. Larry was known as the "fun guy!" He lived an exemplary life and was loved by all. Larry's selfless love of family and friends was truly an example to all who knew him. His relationship with the Lord was reflected in his personal and professional life. Besides his church and Bible Study Fellowship, Larry was active in the Emmaus community, the San Antonio Executive Association and the Board of Directors of McAllister Park Little League. Larry's grandparents, Bernard and Ella Kohutek, and Bruce and Minnie Lindsey, preceded him in death. Besides his parents and wife, he is survived by his children, Michelle, Morgan, Blake and Connor; brother, Robert Kohutek; sister, Sherry Sanford and husband Todd; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harry and Jackie Pickens, all of San Antonio; sister-in-law, Meryl Burchardt and husband Mike of China Spring; and brother-in-law, David Pickens and wife Barbara of Austin; a niece; nephews; aunts and uncles. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 1, 2003 from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
