      Paul E. Richter

      February 5, 2003

      Victoria - Paul E. Richter, 73, of Victoria, Texas, died Monday,
      February 3, 2003. He, the eldest of five sons, was born to Otto and
      Leona Bauer Richter on March 30, 1929, in Austin, Texas. He served
      our country in the Navy during the Korean Conflict.
      Father, brother, husband and so much more; Paul was a friend to many.
      After retiring from Gulf Oil 1980, he enjoyed farming, fishing,
      camping and the closeness of his family and friends. He was a long
      time parishioner of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Victoria, Texas.

      Paul is survived by his wife, Mary Rose Vanek Richter; brothers,
      William A. Richter of Liberty Hill, and David J. Richter and wife,
      Mary, of Cedar Park; children, Stephen J. Richter and wife, Penny, of
      Leander, Kenneth J. Richter and wife, Doe, of Inez, Douglas M.
      Richter of Inez, Gregory W. Richter of Victoria. Jane A. Gatlin and
      husband, Earl, of Cedar Park and Laura M. Richter of Inez. He was
      preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Walter C. Richter and
      Robert J. Richter.

      He will be greatly missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts
      and minds of people who knew and loved him. He especially brought
      much joy to his grandchildren, Stephanie, Misty, Heather, Ryan,
      Robyn, Julie and Audrey.

      The Rosary will be recited Wednesday, February 5, 2003, at 7:00 PM at
      Rosewood Funeral Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday,
      February 6, 2003, at 10:00 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Msgr.
      James Brunner officiating. Burial with full military honors will
      follow at Wood Hi Cemetery.

      Serving as pallbearers are Stephen Richter, Kenneth Richter, Ryan
      Richter, Douglas Richter, Gregory Richter and Earl Gatlin. Honorary
      pallbearers are L. D. Wasicek, Bruce McDonald, Ed Akin and Robert
      Parker.
