Sending this email to give you a web site address to connect to the College
Program "Veteran's Vigil 2002", that will take place at Texas A&M University
in Commerce, Texas from November 7 through November 9th.
So you can see what I have been busy doing at College here lately, thought
you might find it interesting to look and see what we are doing.
I am a student co-chair for the Veteran's Vigil .... there is also another
student co-chair, my good friend, Cristina. We were both in the U.S. Navy.
She was an "Air Traffic Controller" and got her honorable discharge in 1993.
I was a "sub-chaser", every six weeks, I packed my bags and went on
"away-teams" to go help and fix and set up supply channels for submarines
that needed assistance. I served for six years and got my honorable
discharge in 1999. Both Cristina and I are members of the local American
Legion in Greenville, Tx. and stay active with our officer duties there.
So together, along with the other "staff" committee members of the Veteran's
Vigil, we put on a 3 day program for Veteran's Day at the college. This is
the second year for both Cristina and I to be student co-chairs for this
program. We owe a big round of Thanks to the "ASTP" who fund the
scholarships for the two student co-chairs each year; and a big round of
Thanks to our TAMUC President Dr. McFarland. Without the enormous amount of
help and support from Dr. McFarland, the "ASTP", the Veteran's Vigil
Committe members, and all those who volunteer to stand watches to guard the
vigil flame, we would not be able to have the great program we have today.
To wrap this email up, I thought you might find it interesting to scroll
through the pages and see some of the work we've been doing. I'm really
proud of our program ... and love to pass it on and share it with others.
By the way, your invited to attend, if you just so happen to be in the North
East area of Texas during this time.
So here's the web site, and hope you enjoy and think our program is as great
as we do!
