Thanks Joe for the information online.  The pictures of Westfest costumes are really good.  Maggie does travel to many events and was at the State meeting in Ennis.  Yes, Maggie made most of the Czech Dancers Kroje and for many others, especially of Junior Historian (High School) Dancers.  The Jr. Historians traveled to the State Fair today and have an upcoming event in the Austin area next month.  The West Czech Folk Dancers will be performing in Fredericksburg next weekend, if anyone wishes to 'Czech' them out.
Yes, the Authentic kroje is not only difficult to get, but very cherished.  Let us know about your connection, as it might help others in the search.
Thanks Joe, you are always a good source of information and provide us with some laughs and smiles too!

Maggie does a great job on kroje and is the only one that I know of in
Texas that does this sort of thing. I would call her kroje, "Authentic
Texas-Czech".  If I'm not mistaken, I think Maggie made most of the
kroje that the Czech Folk Dancers of West wear.  Kathy, correct me if
I'm wrong.  Maggie does attend several Czech festivals throughout the
year and usually has a booth displaying and selling her creations. (I
      just can't keep Alice away.........)!

Don't forget my Westfest site at
It features mostly authentic Czech kroje that were imported from the
Czech Republic.  Pictures 6 and 9 feature small girls costumes.

It is extremely difficult to find real authentic Czech costumes.
I've been looking for getting a new man's costume for some time.  I
finally found a lady whose son lives in the Czech Republic.  He will
contract with a local tailor to hand make one for me.  This kind of
      process takes about a year.

      >Thanks Susan for the great information and research you pass along.

      Amen to that.
