      Deaths and Obituaries - The Ennis Daily News - March 13, 2002

      Mass of the Christian burial for Charles F. Kubelka was celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. John Catholic Church with Rev. Fred Caldwell as celebrant. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the J.E. Keever mortuary with the following serving as pallbearers: Elliot Harrison, Rafe C. Harrison, Erik Harrison, Chad Kubelka, Joey Valek, Tim Valek and Mike Hickman.

      Mr. Kubelka, 93, died Sunday, March 10 at his home in Bardwell.

      He was born Oct. 25, 19908 in Bardwell, the son of Joseph V. and Carrie Patril Kubelka. He attended Bardwell and Ennis schools.

      On Aug. 22, 1032 he was married to Agnes Valek of Crisp. After their marriage they farmed in the White Rock Community near Waxahachie Lake for two years.

      Then they moved to the farm in Bardwell. Mrs. Kubelka preceded him in death in 1974. He was a member of St. John Catholic Church and the KJT for 76 years.

      He is survived by two daughters, Dorothy and her husband, Joe Valik of Ennis and Charlene Harrison of Farmers Branch; a son and his wife, Charles Lee and Jan Kubelka of Jericho, NY; 10 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; a sister, Pat Tucker of Dallas; a brother and his wife Lawrence and Maggie Kubelka of Naples; a brother-in-law, Bob Slovak of Grand Prairie; a sister-in-law, Janie Williams of Austin; 15 nephews and 11 nieces.
