GONZALES -- Matilda "Tillie" Jalufka, 82, of Gonzales, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2002.
She was born Sept. 5, 1919, in Shiner, to the late John and Matilda Roller Pekar. She was a member of Catholic Daughters and Altar Society. She was a homemaker.
Survivors: daughters, Mary Ann Svetlik of Hallettsville, Madeleine Matula of Goliad and Patricia Davis of Gonzales; sons, Frank Jacob Jalufka, August Jalufka and Benjamin "Benjie" Jalufka, all of Gonzales; sisters, Rosie Malatek of Gonzales and Mary Jalufka of Shiner; brothers, Frank Pekar of Cost, Daniel Pekar of Gonzales and Edward Pekar of Sugar Land; 14 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: husband, Frank Jalufka; sons, Alphonse Jalufka, Larry Jalufka, Royce Jalufka, Robert Jalufka and Raymond Jalufka; parents; two sisters; and two brothers.
A rosary was recited 7 p.m. Thursday at Buffington Funeral Home chapel in Gonzales. Services will be noon today at St. James Catholic Church, the Rev. Frank Macias officiating.
Burial will be at Shiner Catholic Cemetery. Buffington Funeral Home, Gonzales, 830-672-3322.
