      Sophie Mary Martinak, 86, Rt. 1 Box 337, died July 23 (1985) at Albany Care
      Center.

      A prayer vigil will be at 7:30 tonight in the AAsum Funeral home and Mass
      of the Resurrection at 10:30 a.m. Friday in St. Mary's Catholic
      Church. The Rev. Kevin O'Conor will officiate and burial follows at
      Willamette Memorial Park.

      Viewing will be from 1 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.

      Memorials can be made to St. Mary's School.

      She was born Sophie Rod on Jan. 31, 1898, in Moulton, Texas, where she
      received her education.

      She Married George (actually his name is John G. Martinak) on Oct. 31,
      1916, in El Campo, Texas. They moved to Albany in 1924. He died in 1984.

      Mrs. Martinak was a member of St. Edward's Catholic Church in Lebanon for
      40 years and more recently a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.

      Survivors include four sons, Charles, Ray, and Robert, all of Albany, and
      Amos, Lebanon; two daughters, Martha Foulke, and Wilma Hamer, both of
      Albany; three brothers, Lewis and William Rod, both of Pierce, Texas, and
      Anton Rod, El Campo; five sisters, Lillie Stock, Edith Engle, Augustine
      Hubenak, and Annie Hubenak, all of El Campo, Cecelia Hubernak, Pierce; 22
      grandchildren; and 33 great grandchildren.
