          Karen -

We have John (Jan) Matus born in 1890 in Bratrejov. They settled
in the Vernon/Thalia/Crowell area of Texas.

We have a Willie Pustejovsky, 1909, married in 1933 to Bertha
          (Bessie) Kubala, 1909.

I think we are all tied together!!

I found your post from the year 2000 about the City Polka Boys. Bennie
is related to me somehow. He remembers me. I go to church with Gene
Freund that worked with Bennie at Getty Oil years ago. I saw Elizabeth
Mraz's post for help on the hall and I'm going try to donate a
suitcase of pictures from the 40's and 50's as I am an only child and
mom (Florence) and dad(Jerry) have been gone for over 25 years.

On my father's line I am researching:  Petrik (Petrik), Stepan, Zabcik, Zapalac.  All of these families immigrated from Moravia and initially  settled around the Cat Springs, Industry, and surrounding area but most finally ended up in Bell County and surrounding area.

On my mother's  lines of the family I am researching:  Hieronymus (ronemus) from Germany, Eager from Ireland, Thomas, Patton, Galloway, Underwood, Graham, Mabry, Roberts, Hearn.  The original Hieronymus family  settled in  what is now Shepherdstown, West  Virginia and the original Eager  family settled nearby  at Harper's Ferry, West Virginia. Many of the  other families listed above came to Bell County, Texas or the surrounding  counties.

For reasons unknown to me  my parents changed  their last name from "Petrek"  to "Patrick"  around 1940  when  they relocated to Calhoun county, Texas.

It is a Cecilia Kubena married to a Joseph J. Kutac, Sr.

                                They had 13 children:

Joseph Jr., John, Mary, Frank, Louis (married as Mrs. Kubos), Ed, Lena
(married as Mrs. Vahalik), Cecilia, Anton, Annie, Nick, Julia (married
as Mrs. Petru), and another Mary (named for the first).

He was born 8/15/1849, she was born 2/2/1858. He passed 12/23/1932,
                                she passed 8/28/1946.

Hopefully that is enough information to confirm or deny an overlap.
