        John J. Michna Funeral Services Held In Cameron

        John J. Michna of Cameron passed away in the Newton Memorial Hospital
        Sunday, May 16, 1965 at 11:40 a.m. where he had been a patient since
        January 3, 1965. Prior to this he had been hospitalized on several
        occasions. He attained the age of 73 years, 10 months and 22 days.

        Funeral services were held from the Marek-Burns Funeral Home and
        continued at St. Monica's Catholic Church, Wednesday, May 18, with
        the Rev. Edward Dokupil officiating. The Rev. John Geiser was also
        present in the sanctuary. Burial was in St. Monica's Cemetery.

        Rosary was recited at the funeral home chapel Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.

        Mr. Michna was born at Moravia, Lavaca County, Texas, June 24, 1891,
        the son of Joseph and Petrolina (Holec) Michna, both natives of
        Czechoslovakia. He spent his young boyhood at Moravia and later
        moved with his parents to Yoakum where his father passed away. In
        1920 he moved to Shiner where he was employed at S. B. Welhausen and
        Co. for a time.

        Mr. Michna was married to Miss Frances Ermis on November 24, 1936 at
        Marah, Texas, near Cameron, by the Rev. Edward Kacer. The couple
        made their home with her father for sometime and then moved to
        Cameron where he did carpenter work until his health failed about
        three years ago.

        Survivors are his wife, Mrs. John (Frances) Michna of Cameron; four
        brothers, Frank Michna of Flatonia, Joe Michna of Shiner, Anton
        Michna of Yoakum, James Michna of Dallas; and four sisters, Mrs. J.
        R. (Frances) Mikesh, Mrs. Frank (Anna) Cervenka, Misses Agnes and
        Sophia Michna, all of Shiner.

        He was preceded in death by his father, who passed away June 5, 1902;
        his mother, who died December 15, 1941 and two infant brothers.
