Dianna Jo Smajstrla of Victoria and Robert Eric Foertsch of Everett, Wash., were married Dec. 29, 2001, at Our Lady of Victory Cathedral in Victoria. The Rev. Kirby Hlavaty officiated the double-ring ceremony. The bride is the daughter of John and Maxine Smajstrla of Victoria. She is the granddaughter of George and Lena Smajstrla and Angie Kubala, all of Victoria.The groom is the son of Gary and Suzanne Foertsch of Victoria. He is the grandson of the late S. Agnes and F. Emerson Archer of Wilmington, Del., and Alice Foertsch of Donora, Pa., and the late Arthur Foertsch.Kelly Kucera attended as maid of honor. Jamie Bretzman attended as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Ashley Brockman, Leah Villafranca, Kim Kubala and Shiloh Smajstrla. Junior bridesmaid was Ann Smajstrla.Lauren Smajstrla attended as flower girl. Kolton Kubala and Thomas Smajstrla served as ring bearers. Michael Foertsch served as best man. Groomsmen were Juan Flores, Robert Bautista, Kody Smajstrla, Klint Smajstrla and Eric Grones.Ushers were Jason Elliott, Adam Smajstrla and Michael Smajstrla. Alter servers were Katie Meismer and Lorea Ormazabal.A reception was held following the ceremony at DaCosta Sons of Hermann Hall.Following wedding travel to Montego Bay, Jamaica, the couple will reside in Everett, Wash.The bride is a 1997 graduate of St. Joseph High School and a 2001 graduate of Texas A&M University-College Station with a bachelor of science degree in early childhood education. She is a member of Golden Key International and Kappa Delta Pi International honor societies. The groom is a 1996 graduate of St. Joseph High School and a 2001 graduate of Texas A&M University-College Station with a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering. He is a member of the board of directors of Family Outreach of America Inc. He is employed by The Boeing Co. in Everett, Wash.
