      EL CAMPO -- Joe Janosek, 86, of El Campo, died Tuesday, Dec. 25,
      2001.

      He was born Aug. 4, 1915, in Ellinger, to the late Ludwig and
      Caroline Novosad Janosek. He was a staff sergeant of the U.S. Army,
      having served in WWII and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a
      member of the VFW, American Legion Post 251 and St. Philip the
      Apostle Catholic Church. He was retired owner of Elco Barber Shop.

      Survivors: daughter, Kathleen Janosek of El Campo; and brother, Louis
      Janosek of Austin.

      Preceded in death by: wife, Otillie Veselka Janosek; parents;
      sisters, Bessie Mach, Carrie Kollaja and Annie Svrcek; and brother,
      Jerome Janosek. Visitation will begin 1 p.m. today at Triska Funeral
      Home chapel.

      A rosary will be recited 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home chapel.

      Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the chapel, the Rev. Michael
      Petering officiating.

      Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Saturday at St. John's Catholic
