Services for Frank Holubec Sr., 75, of Kurten are set for 2 p.m..
Sunday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bryan.
Monsignor John McCaffrey of St. Joseph Catholic Church will
officiate. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 1:30
p.m. Sunday at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Mr. Holubec died Friday in the College Station Medical Center.
Born in Houston and a lifelong resident of Kurten, he was a rancher
and dairyman for 20 years and raised birds for 37 years. He belonged
to St. Joseph Catholic Church, where he was a member of the Age
Managers Group, the Ushers Club and the Catholic Workmen. He served
in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a lifetime member of VFW
Post 4692 and the American Legion Earle Graham Post 159, where he
served as vice-president for 17 years. He was also a member of the Co-
op and was a former member of the Farm Bureau.
Survivors include his wife, Lillian Branecky Holubec of Kurten; a son
and daughter-in-law, Frank Jr. and Suzanne Holubec of Graham; three
daughters and two sons-in-law, Linda Holubec of College Station,
Kathy and Bill Bond of South Lake and Mary Ann and Jerry Moss of
Combine; a brother and sister-in-law, John and Ursula Holubec of
Harwood; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Georgia and Ernest Beran
of Caldwell and Valeria Pavelka of Bartlett; and four grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to St. Joseph School.
