STEVE SLIVA (3/11/1921 - 4/16/2014)
Steve Sliva, 93, of Sealy, Texas was born in Frydek, Texas March 11, 1921 to parents Dominic and Victoria (Zaruba) Sliva. He was raised in Frydek and attended St. Mary's Catholic School in Frydek and served as altar server. Later he attended the public school in Frydek.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Frydek and a member of the KJT #29 for 50+ years.
He married Cecilia Lezak on October 21, 1941 and to that union, two daughters were born, Geraldine and Maxine.
On March 16, 1996, Steve married Dorthy J. Havemann at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Frydek at which time Steve went to make his home in Sealy.
Steve enjoyed his family, grandchildren, great and great-great-grandchildren and was lovingly known as PaPa. He loved listening to all kinds of music, dancing, gardening, playing baseball, and watching the great-grandchildren playing sports.
Steve was a cotton farmer. In 1956, he went to work at the Sealy Broom Factory until it burned down in 1965. Later he went to work at W.K.M. for 20 years and retired in 1986.
Steve is survived by wife Dorthy J. Sliva; two daughters, Geraldine Sliva Hamil and Maxine Sliva Rudloff and husband Dane; sister Lillie Buchala; five grandchildren, Shawn Rudloff, Cindy Maresh and husband Larry, Kenneth Rudloff and wife Misti, Donna Cash and husband Ronnie, Mason Rudloff and wife Bridgit; and ten great-grandchildren, Christy Ivey and husband Eacey, Aaron Wechter, Cheyenne and Tyler Maresh, Carson and Connor Cash, Maddy and Jacob Rudloff, Bryce and Ellisyn Rudloff; and two great-great-grandchildren Caidence and Marley Ivey.
Preceded in death by his parents Dominic and Victoria Sliva; wife Cecilia Sliva; brothers L.D., Karel and Dominic Sliva; sisters Sister (nun) Marcella Sliva, Gabriella Kutra, Louise Pyka, Annie Svoboda, Agnes Machala, Frances Kutra; and son-in-law Don Hamil.
Funeral Services, Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 11:00 AM St Mary’s Catholic Church in Frydek

Interment in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Frydek.
