      Mildred Krajca Mikel, 82, passed away in Ennis, Texas on Thursday, March 20, 2014 surrounded by family.


      Mildred was born in Ennis, Texas on January 3, 1932 to R. Joe and Mary (Haskovec) Krajca. She grew up in Ennis and attended Mote and Ennis schools. On January 19, 1948 she married Fred Louis Mikel and they made their home in Ennis.


      She worked for twenty years for Tom’s Foods as a packer, for five years with Atlas Sound in assembly, for two years for IOOF in housekeeping and provided child care for two years. She was a member of the St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church and the WFLA. She enjoyed gardening, quilting and collecting Czech glassware.


      She is survived by one son, Randy Mikel; two daughters: Carolyn Bohanon and husband, Dennis and Sharon Doherty and husband, Don; eight grandchildren: fourteen great-grandchildren: two step grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren.


      She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Fred Louis Mikel in October of 2001, two brothers and four sisters.


      Visitation will be on Sunday, March 23, 2014 from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis with Rosary at 5 p.m. A Celebration of her life will take place on Monday, March 24, 2014 at 10 a.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis with Father John Dick. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
