      Barbara Jean Rahnert passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2014.  Barbara was born to William R. Odstrcil and Lydia (Trcalek) Odstrcil in Bryan, TX on January 18, 1944.  Barbara married Rudolph (Rudy) Rahnert on September 22, 1962 and soon after moved to Houston to start and raise their family.  For over 30 years, Barbara Jean fought a long hard battle against Multiple Sclerosis.  Even after the disease had taken its toll on her body, Barbara maintained a sharp mind, an indomitable spirit, and an immeasurable and contagious positive outlook on life.  Barbara’s love of her husband, children and grandchildren was immeasurable as was the strength in her Christian faith in God and Jesus.


      Barbara was preceded in death by her mother and father as well as her brother Samuel “Sammy” Odstrcil.


      She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Rudy Rahnert, Daughter Kim Raus and husband Johnny of Cypress, and son Paul Rahnert and daughter-in-law Heather of Tulsa and grandchildren Drew Raus, Will Raus, Chase Rahnert and Erynn Rahnert, and many nieces and nephews.


      Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 21, 2014 at Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home, 404 W. Buck St., Caldwell, Texas 77836.  A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Phillips and Luckey Funeral home with a procession to the gravesite immediately following in Caldwell Masonic Cemetery.


      Serving as pallbearers will be, Marc Groce, Chris Mashek, Jeff Kubin, Kent Kubin, Cory Odstrcil and Rick Greiner
