      BALLINGER, Jan. 16 – Mrs. Mary Pakorny, 56, died at the Hadley hospital in Odessa Monday at 10:15 p.m. after an illness of five weeks.  She had moved to Odessa from Rowena in September.

       

      Funeral services will be Wednesday at 3 p.m. at the Agnew funeral chapel in Ballinger, with the Rev. Jameson, pastor of the Methodist church in Odessa, officiating.  Burial will be in the Protestant cemetery, Rowena.

       

      Surviving the five sons, R. V., H. A. and G. E. of Odessa, Pvt. Harold Gerhardt, somewhere in Germany and Leonard Gerhardt, Odessa; two brothers, Joe Holuvec, Rowena, and John Straka, Miles; and one step-brother, Emil Straka of Houston; three sisters, Mrs. E. R. Falticek, Mrs. W. N. Gallia, and Mrs. A. T. Falticek, all of Rowena; and three grandchildren.  Her husband preceded her in death in 1912.
