      August 11, 1938 - November 24, 2013


      "Jodie" Joseph J. Kallina, 75, of Mentz, TX formerly of Garwood, TX passed away on November 24, 2013 in Mentz, TX.


      He was born on August 11, 1938 to Joseph "Joe" Kallina, Sr. in El Campo, TX. Joseph was the retired owner and operator of Kallina Oil Co. in Garwood, TX. On June 4, 1960 he married Alice Livanec.


      Joseph is survived by his wife, Alice Lorraine Livanec Kallina of Mentz, TX, daughters, Jacqueline Carey Schneider and husband Kirk of Carthage, TX, Kelly Jean Kallina-Pickett and husband Jeff of Columbus, TX, and Pamela Lorraine Kallina-Guzman and husband Johnny ,Sr. of Columbus, TX, brother, Gerald F. Kallina and wife Thi of Houston, TX, sister, Susan Stacey of Garwood, TX, grandchildren, R. Dean Pfeffer, Amber L. Pope, Amanda H. Widner, Preston A. Pickett, and Kohl J. Pickett, great grandchildren, Greyleigh R. Pope and Jess Widner.


      He was preceded in death by father, Joseph "Joe" Justin Kallina, Sr.


      Visitation will be held Monday, November 25, 2013 from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Henneke Funeral Home in Columbus, TX & Tuesday, November 26, 2013 from 12:00 noon - 1:00 pm, at St. Roch Catholic Church in Mentz, TX.  A parish prayer service and rosary will be held Monday at 7:00 pm at Henneke Funeral Home.   Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at 1:00 pm at St. Roch Catholic Church with Fr. Wayne Flagg officiating.


      Pallbearers are Gerald F. Kallina, Preston A. Pickett, Kohl J. Pickett, Jeff Pickett, Dean Pfeffer, Johnny Guzman Sr., and Kirk Schneider with Honorary Pallbearers J. P. Pope and Jess Widner.


      Burial will take place in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Nada, TX.


      In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the St. Roch Catholic Church, 1600 Frelsburg Rd., Alleyton, TX 78935 or M. D. Anderson Cancer Research, 1515 Holcombe Blvd., Houston, TX 77030 or Bernardo Volunteer Fire Department, 2845 FM 949, Cat Spring, TX 78933.


      Henneke Funeral Home
