      EL CAMPO - Lucy Knebel Hubenak, age 81 of El Campo, passed away on May 20, 2013. She was born on August 23, 1931 in Hillje, Texas, to Emil and Frances Skrovan Knebel.


      She is survived by her daughter Sheri and John Hogan, sons Larry and Joyce Hensley and Jerry and Beverly Hensley, brother Lawrence Knebel, Sister-in-law Josie Knebel, all of El Campo, 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

      Lucy was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Wilbur Hensley Jr. and Richard J. Hubenak, brothers Ray Knebel, Emil Knebel, Victor Knebel and Ed Knebel, and sisters Loretta Jaks, Edna Jane Knebel and infant sister.


      Visitation will begin at 3 pm on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at Triska Funeral Home with a Rosary at 6 pm. Funeral service will be 10 am Thursday, May 23, 2013 at St. Philip Catholic Church with the Reverend Albert Yankey and Reverend Clement Quainoo officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Memorial Park.


      Pallbearers are Michael Staff, Slade Stary, Jackson Motal, Chad Hensley, Jonathan Hogan, Clay Glaze, Robert Korenek and Mark Cochrum.   Honorary Pallbearers are Layton Stary, Ross Glaze, Charles Mazel, El Campo EMS, Makayla Staff, Sadie Hensley, Lisa Whitley, Kenny Knebel, Philip Urbanovsky, and Maggie and Marion Motal.


      Memorial donations in honor of Lucy may be made to St. Philip Catholic Church or St. Andrew Catholic Church.
