Kenneth Ray Pivonka, 59, passed away on Sunday. November 18, 2012. He was born December 10, 1952 in Corpus Christi,Texas to Raymond and Louise Pivonka.
He was preceded in death by his father Raymond Pivonka.
Kenneth is survived by his wife,Betty Lou Nevill-Pivonka of Corpus Christi (hometown Corsicana,Texas),his mother,Louise Pivonka of Odem,one daughter,Frances Pivonka Tyl of Shreveport,Louisiana, one brother,Marvin and wife, Maria Balboa Pivonka of Corpus Christi, stepdaughter,Shannon Lynn Syma, step granddaughter, Madeline Syma and step grandsons,Hunter Syma and Chase Syma, stepson, Steven Wayne Maples, children from previous marriages, all from Corpus Christi, numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.
Kenneth joined the United States Army, then went to work in the oil field industry in the 1980's and 1990's during the Giddings Oil Boom era. He worked for Scurlock oil company as a truck driver then for the Clayton Willams as a gauger in the Caldwell,Texas, Corpus Christi,Texas,McCook,Texas and Dilley,Texas area. Kenneth was a friend to everyone and never met a stranger. He made a lasting impression on everyone he met. Kenneth lived life with gusto and did not back down from anything. On March 18, 1999, he received a liver transplant and lived the remainder of his life to the fullest. Kenneth loved NASCAR, but most of all he loved to talk about how proud he was of his children and grandchildren. Kenneth was a friend to everybody and treated everyone with respect. Thank you Lord for letting us have him in our lives for the time we did.
Graveside services with full military honors will be held at 11 AM Wednesday,November 21,2012 at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery,9947 IH 37,Access Road,Corpus Christi. Texas. A reception with food and drinks will be held at the Al Amin Shriners Hall, 2001 Suntide Rd.,Corpus Christi,Texas.
