      Emil August Vitek, 91, a lifetime resident of Granger, Texas, passed
      away Sunday, June 25, 2006 in Brackenridge hospital with his wife by
      his side.
      He was born Sept. 4, 1914 in Granger to Joe J. and Anna (Volcik)
      Vitek. On August 21, 1945, he was joined in marriage to Adeline Zach.
      Emil farmed the first half of his life. Upon retiring from farming,
      for the next 23 years, he oversaw the maintenance and custodial
      services, as well as being a bus driver for Granger ISD. He was a
      member of the Granger Brethren Church. Emil talked with everyone. No
      one was a stranger to him. He loved his fishing, gardening and yard
      work; if not tending to his own, then to that of several neighbors.

      husband Jimmie of Taylor and Judy Trevino of Granger; four grandsons,
      Greg Beran, David Schwitzer, Matthew Vitek and Zachary Vitek; a
      sister, Josephine Zrubek of Granger; and numerous nieces and nephews.
      He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, August Vitek
      and Joe Zajicek; two sisters, Elsie Volek and Emilie McCoy and son-in-
      law, John Trevino.
