Two Yorktown women killed, girl hurt in DeWitt County wreck

      May 30, 2004

Two women died and a young child was injured Friday night near Nordheim when
the vehicle the three were traveling in veered off the road into a deep
ditch, hitting a tree, a DeWitt County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman

Debra Krausey, 51, and Anna Boldt, 50, both of Yorktown, were pronounced
dead at the scene - U.S. Highway 72 at Nordheim - at 7:15 Friday night.

Officials said they don't know why the driver veered in the one-vehicle
accident, but said alcohol was not involved.

Courtney Boldt, a 6-year-old girl injured in the accident, was airlifted to
University Hospital in San Antonio Friday night. She was Boldt's
      granddaughter and Krausey's great niece.

The girl's injuries are unknown, though a sheriff's department official said
Saturday night that she was "out of surgery and doing OK."
