      Billy Earl Appelt

      MR. BILLY EARL APPELT, age 74 of Alvin, Texas passed away Wednesday,
      October 30, 2002 in the Clear Lake Regional Medical Center.

      Mr. Appelt was born on November 7, 1927 in Halletsville, Texas and
      was a resident of Alvin for 47 years. He was a test board deskman
      retired by Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, after 34 years, 1
      month of service, and was a member of the Catholic faith. He attended
      Pearsall High School, where he served as Fire Chief of the high
      school. Mr. Appelt entered the United States Navy on March 15, 1946
      and earned the rank of Seaman First Class and then he obtained his
      highest rank of Yeoman Third Class. Mr. Appelt first served in San
      Diego, California and then served at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii and was
      discharged on December 19, 1947.

      Mr. Appelt was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur & Lula
      Appelt, his brother & sister-in-law, Arthur & Lois Appelt, his
      sister, Melba Jo Appelt and son-in-law, Mark Utterback.

      Survivors, Daughter: Teresa Utterback, Shingle Springs, California;
      Sons & Daughters-in-law: Gary & Dorllyn Appelt, Alvin, Texas; David &
      Nina Appelt, League City, Texas; Mark Appelt, Brenham, Texas; Brother
      & Sister-in-law: Bobbie & Joyce Appelt, Hallettsville, Texas;
      Grandchildren: Amber & Brandon Appelt; Garrett & Jamie Appelt.
      Numerous other relatives and friends.

      Visitation will be held from 5:00P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday, November
      1, 2002 in the Scott Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be
      held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, November 2, 2002 in the Scott Funeral
      Home Chapel with Father Daniel McKenna, O.M.I. officiating. Interment
      will be held in the Confederate Cemetery, Alvin, Texas. Arrangements
      under the direction of The Scott Family, 1421 East Hwy. 6, Alvin,
