Group Description

Welcome! Yes, it really is possible to teach your baby to read in 90 seconds a day. It is a joyful process which babies and parents alike enjoy!

This group was established to provide answers to those considering teaching their babies to read as well as support for parents who are giving their babies and toddlers a tremendous start on their education by teaching them to read. Most of us use the method described in the book "How to Teach Your Baby to Read" by Glenn Doman of The Institutes for the Achievement of Human Potential. We also have used reading videos like Your Baby Can Read, MonkiSee MonkiDo, and Love and Learning. We have taught typical children as well as children with special needs. The moderator herself taught her daughter with Down Syndrome to read. By 18 mos she was reading more than 50 words!

These methods are not at all about pushing your child to learn. It is about joyous learning. If you and your child are not having a wonderful time using this method you are doing something wrong.

Baby education is much more than just learning to read however. So we also discuss various other activities that will grow a child's brain such as baby signing, physical activities, math, teaching a foreign language so that baby can be bilingual, etc.

This group is especially geared to pregnant mothers who are expecting in any stage of their pregnancy (as well as their husbands); SAHMs and SAHFs; working mothers and fathers who want to teach their newborns, infants, babies, toddlers, preschoolers and young children, kids, and munchkins; homeschoolers who are homeschooling preschool and elementary grade children; daycare providers and preschool teachers who want to really make a difference for those in their care; and anyone interested in bettering the lives of very young children.

We do ask that posters remain civil and on-topic. Flaming, spamming or posting commercial postings will result in being banned without warning.
