      Position: Taxonomy Specialist
      Location: Downtown Minneapolis Headquarters

      The Company:
      Iconoculture, Inc, is an emerging research company that delivers consumer
      understanding through a unique, affordable and efficient combination of
      observation, classification, translation and analysis. Iconoculture's

      The Position:
      Due to company growth, we are looking for a Taxonomy Specialist who will
      expand Iconoculture's consumer-oriented taxonomy and on a daily basis
      implement a classification/metadata system for Iconoculture content. This
      system includes tags for demographic, age, acculturation, and other metadata
      including a proprietary trend nomenclature.

      Other duties:
      Use accepted library science and taxonomy standards, along with proprietary
      Iconoculture methodology principles, to implement metatags on all content
      including articles, market facts and reports.
      Review and classify (tag) all articles, market facts, and other web content
      as required accurately and on time prior to publication to the site.
      Maintain a manual of usage, which includes a schema and the assumptions that
      form the foundation of the classification system. Assist with training staff
      in usage of system.
      Assist with further developing schema to better match Iconoculture's
      taxonomy with client data needs.


      Competency:
      Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university, MLS a plus.
      Minimum 2 year experience in a setting implementing taxonomies.
      Demonstrated knowledge of taxonomy principles.
      Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
      Outlook and Access).
      Proficiency in FAST and Teragram would be a plus.
      Passion for library science, research and analysis, and understanding
      consumer behavior.
      Proven ability to review and classify editorial content and assign
      indexing/classification metadata tagging in an online database-centric
      environment.
      Knowledge of corporate marketing segmentation practices preferred.
      Marketing background/exposure a plus.
      Strong analytic skills and ability to present findings in a meaningful way.
      Able to maintain high standards of quality with minimal supervision. Able to
      consistently meet daily deadlines with minimal supervision.
