Subject: [TaxoCoP] Enterprise Capability Oriented Taxonomies

      Hello All,

For those interested in Enterprise Taxonomies as a means for modeling things like business functions, the IF4IT has released an Enterprise Capability Modeling Framework.

Such frameworks are used by Architects (e.g. Enterprise, Solutions, and Business Architects) who use taxonomies and ontologies as a means for creating structural representations of an enterprise, including both Business and Information Technology functions.  Once the skeletal system of such models is established, the model can be enriched with other categorical information that is pertinent to the modeler and to the enterprise.  Examples include but are not limited to related technologies, roles & responsibilities, human skills, organizational services, and much more.

The Enterprise Capability Modeling Framework is a precursor for the release of an Enterprise Capability Model (ECM), which will be published shortly and which will double as a functional example of the framework.

As always, constructive feedback to help improve the material is very welcome.

I hope you find it useful.

      My Best,

      Frank Guerino, Chairman
