      I did a few google searches as well, but wasn't finding much of anything.  I even checked the JISC lists of metadata vocabularies (referenced from the bottom of my "examples" page at http://www.controlledvocabulary.com/examples.html), but didn't find any there specific to those areas.

        I thought I recalled stumbling across a clothing taxonomy at one point but a Google search for clothing taxonomy brings back this as the first result. Not helpful in your search for a taxonomy but funny!

          It isn't licensed and also doesn't list any attributes but may be a nice starting point to build one of your own to fit into your system and needs

            Thanks for all the help with this search. We require a lot of detail and also attributes of the product types. Looks like we're going pursue more investigation of the WAND vocabularies. Gale also has an extensive Products and Services taxonomy (available through Taxonomy Warehouse), but you can't purchase pieces of it and we just don't need all of the 12,000+ terms.
